AMG S820 plasma-gas cutting machine built by the Taiwanese company ASIA MACHINE GROUP in 2013, is used for precision cutting of workpieces made of carbon steel and acid-resistant steel. The machine characterised by a robust and high-quality construction has two torches – a HYPERTHERM plasma torch with THC voltage height adjustment and collision protection, and a KOIKE gas torch with functions for automatic piercing.
The plasma cutting machine performs workpiece cutting processes on a large work table of surface area (L x W) 6100 x 2500 mm with an additional laser pointer to facilitate workpiece positioning on the table. In order to eliminate any contamination generated during laser and gas cutting, the usual exhaust extraction has been replaced by an waterbed table powered by water with a pressure of up to 2 bar. The water mirror in the table’s bath effectively absorbs the exhaust fumes, ensuring a high level of operational safety.
The X and Y axes of the AMG S820 machine are driven on high-quality rack-and-pinion gears by MITSUBISHI servo motors with backlash-free transmission, which responds instantly to changes in direction. Thanks to this solution, workpieces are cut with high stability, high accuracy and at a speed of up to 9000 mm/min.
The plasma cutting machine comes with additional equipment, consisting of e.g. a TAIWAN PLASMA CORPORATION AP201 plasma source of 200 A and an industrial PC with CAD/CAM FASTCAM software with AUTO NESTING function. The total weight of the machine is 3500 kg.
