KOLZER DGK 36SV vacuum metallizer

KOLZER DGK 36SV vacuum metallizer was built in 2016 in Italy by Kolzer s.r.l. The machine on offer enables various types of components, i.e. plastics, glass, cups and automotive parts, to be coated with decorative or functional coatings. These coatings give the workpieces a characteristic metallic, mirror or gold effect.

The machining process is performed in a deep vacuum. Inside a large chamber, there is a tungsten spiral into which small rods or wires of conductive metals are inserted. A high-power current is passed through the spiral, causing it to heat up to 1500°C. This temperature causes the material to melt and generate vapour. The vapour then spreads out as a cloud of atoms and is evenly deposited on cold objects (cups, foils, packaging), forming a thin metallic layer. The entire cycle takes between 4 and 6 minutes.

The thermal evaporation method used in the PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) process ensures the highest quality of surface metallization. Thanks to the versatility of applications, combined with high repeatability, the KOLZER DGK 36 SV vacuum coating machine is the best choice for e.g. the automotive or food industry. The offer also includes all necessary components, such as a complete set of vacuum pumps and an intuitive-to-use PLC controller. The KOLZER PVD machine weighs 2000 kg.
