LAKFAM ASP-631F SL5 CNC tool grinder

The LAKFAM ASP-631F SL5 CNC tool grinder was manufactured in 2016 in Poland by the company LAKFAM KOWARY. It was designed for automatic sharpening of rotary tools shaped along a helical line. It is equipped with a numerical control that allows you to work in five axes in an automatic cycle, without the need to manually move the grinding head. What’s more, it allows you to sharpen objects with shaped and spherical surfaces. The grinder allows you to process an object with a maximum weight of 10 kg and a diameter of up to 160 mm. On the other hand, the shifts in the X, Y, Z axes are 370 mm, 340 mm and 350 mm, respectively. The tool grinder is equipped with a Renishaw TS27R contact probe, thanks to which you can easily and accurately determine parameters such as pitch, diameter and position angles. In addition, the machine has a hydraulic TENDO E Compact MASBT40 clamping holder, which significantly increases the tool life, improves process stability and dimensioning accuracy.

Work description of the five-axis Lakfam ASP-631 F-SL5 tool grinder

The CNC control has a memory of characteristic parameters of 500 cutters and a memory of all parameters of the last work cycle. The longitudinal trolley and the stand with the grinding spindle operate on linear guides. Both shifts are controlled automatically, thanks to which it is possible to sharpen the tooth to any depth with linear gain. The helix is ​​defined by entering its pitch, or by reading the actual pitch directly from the sharpened tool – using the measuring probe. The ASP-631F SL5 grinder is equipped with drives with DC motors, the control is carried out by a controller with easy and accessible programming, with the help of which you can program the data characterizing the sharpening process.
