LANDIS LUND 3L2 CNC crankshaft grinding machine, manufactured in England in 2001, is used for the final grinding of crankshaft journals. Workpieces with a maximum length of 680 mm are machined by two spindles in a very short time. In order to prevent unnecessary vibrations arising during the grinding process, the machine body is made from high-quality steel.
The mounted spindle grinding wheels are constantly subjected to balancing using the MARPOSS E82 electronic grinding wheel balancing controller to achieve improved durability and a longer service life. Thanks to the SIEMENS HMI panel with the installed Landis CNC 6400 CNC controller, it is also possible to program many of the necessary programmes for crankshaft machining and have full control over all machine functions. The grinding machine is also equipped with among others a multi-position tailstock, a hydrostatic spindle wheel and a servo motor. The grinding machine weighs 16 tonnes.
