MEPAL ATLANTIS C3SR profile machining center

MEPAL ATLANTIS C3SR profile machining center was built in 2018 in Italy by MEPAL Italia s.r.l (RobTech). The machine is new, stocked after purchase and has never been in operation.

MEPAL ATLANTIS C3SR is an advanced CNC machining center designed for precision machining of aluminium and PVC profiles from three sides. It is designed to perform such operations, i.e. drilling and milling of workpieces with a maximum wall thickness of 2.5 mm and lengths in excess of 3 metres. All these processes are performed fully automatically in three numerically controlled axes (X,Y,Z). Inside the large work area there is a rotary work table, which is pneumatically rotatable within the range of -90°, 0° and +90°. This solution allows workpieces to be machined from different sides without having to refit the workpiece. The spindle, driven by a powerful 4.5 kW motor, reaches a speed of as much as 18000 rpm. It automatically picks up tools stored in a 6-position linear tool magazine. The disc cutter is manually mounted directly in the workhead. The cooling system with adjustable coolant dosage improves machining quality and increases tool life.

The machine’s sturdy, pass-through design allows for convenient work with long profiles used in window and facade systems. Axes guided by linear bearings ensure high accuracy and repeatability of operations. During machining, the profile is held firmly and securely in place by four clamps on the linear guides. A left and right stop is used to position the workpiece. The ATLANTIS C3SR window profile machining center is operated by means of an intelligent CNC control system with a touchscreen and graphic interface. The control system allows programming of machining operations both on the machine and on external computers. It also supports the AutoCAD DXF file format, which enables rapid design of machining programmes and integration with CAD/CAM software.
