PRIMA POWER E5X punching machine

PRIMA POWER E5X punching machine was manufactured in 2014 in Italy. Controlled using a NC controller Beckhoff TwinCat, the machine punches with 170 tonnes of force sheets with a maximum dimension (L x W) of 2530 x 1270 mm, a maximum thickness of 8 mm and a weight of up to 200 kg.

The turret punching machine makes from 150 to 1800 strokes per minute (depending on the selected mode) and its feeds are 2584 (X axis) and 1317 mm (Y axis). The turret magazine, driven by a rack-and-pinion gearbox, provides automatic tool changing within 1-3 seconds, through bi-directional rotation of the turret discs. The magazine can hold a maximum of 200 tools with a maximum diameter of 89 mm.

The punching machine’s brush table reduces noise levels, as well as protecting the workpiece surface from scratches. On the table there are two pneumatic clamps with a central locking system and sensors monitoring the correctness of sheet clamping. The slides move on precision linear guides driven by maintenance-free AC servomotors. The servomotor’s rotation is converted to linear motion by means of reciprocating ball-bearing gears. The total weight of the turret punching machine is 10500 kg.
