SCM TECH Z5 5200 CNC woodworking center was built in 2015 in Italy by SCM Group S.p.a. This extremely efficient machine is used for precision machining of wood and wood-based materials (chipboard, plywood, etc.). It enables a number of complex operations to be performed, such as vertical drilling, horizontal drilling, grooving with a saw blade along the X axis and standard milling.
The machining process is performed in 5 axes by means of a work head located inside a movable machining station. It consists of a boring head with vertical/horizontal spindles and integrated blade and electro-spindle with automatic tool exchange system. The machining station moves over a work table with suction cups that ensure secure holding of the workpiece during machining. On the inner base of the work table, in turn, there is a device designed for easy shavings removal. Each axis is driven by high-powered, brushless digital motors, achieving excellent dynamic movements combined with high process reliability. Movement in the X,Y,Z axes is carried out using linear guides and preloaded helical gears.
The SCM TECH Z5 5200 is also extremely easy to operate. The machine has an advanced control system with Xilog Maestro 3D design software and AlphaCAM CAD/CAM software. This solution makes it possible to create even the most advanced machining programmes with just a few mouse clicks. All this makes the offered SCM TECH Z5-52 woodworking center an excellent choice for the production of furniture components and wood structural elements.
