AGIE CHARMILLES CUT 30 P wire EDM

AGIE CHARMILLES CUT 30 P wire EDM was built in 2012 (launched in 2013) in China by Beijing Agie Charmilles Co., Ltd. The machine is designed for the production of precision dies, cutting dies, punches and other parts with complex geometry. Workpieces with a maximum weight of 1000 kg are machined by means of electrical discharge machining, which enables the creation of complex shapes even in the hardest materials. The process involves the removal of material by means of controlled electrical discharges between the wire and the workpiece submerged in a dielectric. This results in a high-quality surface finish without the need for additional finishing operations, such as polishing.

The AGIE CHARMILLES CUT 30 P performs machining with a cutting head that moves in the X, Y and Z axes with feeds of 600 mm, 400 mm and 350 mm respectively. Maximum cutting accuracy is ensured by a HANS SCHMIDT tension meter, which continuously monitors the wire tension. The use of this solution, combined with an automatic wire threading system, minimises downtime, enabling efficient continuous operation. All this is complemented by a comprehensive range of equipment, consisting of, amongst others, a CNC controller and new spools of 0.25 mm brass wire. The CUT 30 P wire EDM weighs 4690 kg.
