SCHOTT & MEISSNER nonwoven production line was built in 2011 in Germany by SCHOTT & MEISSNER Maschinen-und Anlagenbau GmbH. The machine is designed for the production of technical nonwovens, which are used in, among others, the production of thermal insulation mats, fibreglass mats and carbon fabrics. The entire production process is performed fully automatically in a single cycle – from heating and drying the material, through forming and pressing, to cutting and winding the finished rolls.
The nonwoven is created by combining fibres (ceramic, carbon, glass, polymer, etc.) with a bonding agent under the influence of hot air and high pressure. The material is heated to 220°C in a convection oven of modular design and with an option to change the direction of flow metre by metre. In the next stage, the material passes through a press with two teflon-coated conveyor belts. The fibres between the two conveyor belts are heated by heating plates and then pressed by nip rolls, arranged inline one after the other. The final stage involves cooling, cutting and winding the finished nonwovens onto rolls with a maximum diameter of 1000 mm.
The SCHOTT MEISSNER nonwoven bonding line is very easy to operate. The machine operator has at his disposal an intelligent, PLC-based control system with an intuitive interface and many useful functions. The total weight of the line is approximately 20 tonnes.
The offered line is fully complete and consists of the following components:
– pivoting inlet belt mounted on a movable steel frame and driven by a synthetic belt
– SCHOTT & MEISSNER TopCon LP 1×3 m double belt oven
– SCHOTT & MEISSNER Thermofix 4th generation double belt press
– cross-cutting system with driven circular knife Ø 300 mm, motorised slider and pneumatic downholder
– 10 m transfer belt with pneumatic tensioning
– ascending batch winder for rolls up to 1000 mm in diameter
– multi-motor AC drive system with SIEMENS frequency inverters (6 drive stations)
– MP277 HMI operator panel with SIEMENS SIMATIC S7 315 PLC controller
